Angelo Rolfo, a motorcycle champion back in 1980, passed his enthusiasm on to his son Roberto Rolfo. Already at a very young age, Roberto Rolfo showed great talent and started in the Italian championship. In the year 1996 he started for Team Italia, a racing team that traditionally supports Italian talents and Rolfo finished fourth overall in the European championship.
For 2007 he joined the HANNspree Ten Kate Honda team, riding on a Honda CBR 1000RR factory bike. Rolfo managed stable results among the first ten and came in twice in 4th place, while finishing 7th overall, but was overshadowed by his team-mate's performance.
