Kawasaki H2A Purple
Kawasaki was able to achieve popularity with the two stroke models of the A
series and the W 650 and even tried to conquer the World market with so called
high performance motor cycles.
Kawasaki promised 60 horse powers, a top
speed of 200 km/h and a quarter of mile stint in 12,4 seconds, at the time
unbelievable figures. This announcement alone hit the world press and public
like a bomb.
The H1 was not a motorcycle for beginners, softies or other kinds of inexperienced drivers. The explosive power development, which was underlined by a jumping front wheel, the mediocre suspension and the only average braking system, was not easy to handle. Additionally the fuel consumption was above average, it was literally an alcoholic.
