Vespa GT300 Super
A sporty Vespa: with a more powerful engine and improved aerodynamics, the
Vespa 90 SS established itself in the mid sixties as a popular sports version in
the Piaggio programme. The short cut stands for Super Sprint. In fact the 90 SS
is linked to the sporty heritage of the Vespa GS from 1955, because more and
more Vespa riders wanted to drive sportive. The signature outlook was a slimmer
cover in the front as well as a specially designed exhaust system for this
model. The spare tyre was mounted in the access way. Above that was not the gas
tank, but a luggage compartment with cushion, which allowed for a more sporty
seating position. The 5.9 HP two stroke engine with round about 90 ccm and a
weight of 80.5 kilograms allowed for a top speed of 95.2 kilometres per hour.
