
Yamaha Edwards 2006
Colin Edwards, born in Houston, Texas, moved to MotoGP in 2003. After two World Titles in the World Superbike Championship he rose to this new challenge. 2006 was Colin`s second season with the Yamaha Works Team on the Yamaha YZR-M1. With around 240 bhp, the liquid cooled four-cylinder four-stroke bike had a maximum speed of approx. 330 kph. With the new developed Michelin tyres cornering predictability was improved. Anyhow, the season was not very successful for Colin Edwards. At the race in Assen he had the chance to win his first race, but during a force with Nicky Hayden he crashed on the last lap. He finished 7th overall in the Championship standings with 124 points. points.
